Sunrise Senior Session at Rainbow Row with the Pink Figgy | Ryland's Charleston Senior Portraits
--
Some senior sessions are simply unforgettable, and Ryland's sunrise session in downtown Charleston was absolutely one of them!
Ryland and her mom made one of their favorite mother-daughter trips from Georgia to Charleston, and we planned the perfect way to celebrate her senior year—with an early morning session at iconic Rainbow Row featuring the adorable Pink Figgy, Charleston's vintage pink Nissan Figaro.
The sunrise couldn't have been more perfect! We were greeted with soft golden light, comfortable (for July) temperatures, and peaceful streets that felt like they belonged entirely to us. Aside from a few early morning runners and dog walkers, Rainbow Row was wonderfully quiet, making it the ideal backdrop for our session.
One of the biggest highlights of the morning was how perfectly the Pink Figgy parked for us. During our 30-minute rental, we scored two incredible parking spots just steps apart. The first was in front of the cutest blue house complete with charming flower boxes, and the second was in front of a dreamy pink house with a gorgeous white crepe myrtle in full bloom. It truly couldn't have been planned any better. I do often tell my clients during their session "it all depends on who is home!" and that was pretty fitting this morning.
Although 30 minutes may not sound like much time, we accomplished so much. Ryland wore two outfits with the Pink Figgy, creating an incredible amount of variety in her gallery. For the blue house, she chose a chic white pantsuit romper paired with bright pink heels, giving the session a modern, sophisticated look that paired beautifully with the vintage car. She then changed into a flowing long white dress while keeping the same pink heels for the pink house location, creating a softer, more romantic feel that perfectly complemented the pastel Charleston backdrop.
In between portraits, we captured plenty of behind-the-scenes videos for social media, snapped a few fun selfies with the Pink Figgy, and had so much fun bringing Ryland's personality to life throughout the morning.
After saying goodbye to the Pink Figgy, we continued exploring Rainbow Row with Ryland's final two outfits. A casual look featuring jeans, a sunny yellow tube top, and sneakers added a fun, youthful vibe, while her short pink dress was the perfect finishing touch. Both outfits looked incredible against the colorful historic homes, giving her gallery a cheerful mix of classic Charleston charm and vibrant personality.
If you're dreaming of a colorful, one-of-a-kind senior session in Charleston, pairing Rainbow Row with the Pink Figgy at sunrise is hard to beat. It offers timeless portraits, endless variety, and an experience that's just as memorable as the photos themselves.
Ryland, thank you for spending part of your girls' getaway with me! It was such a joy celebrating your senior year, and I hope these portraits always remind you of this special trip to Charleston with your mom.
