Erin Rose Photography is a licensed and insured LLC serving Charleston, South Carolina and Beaches of Kiawah Island, Folly and Isle of Palms. I offer in-home and outdoor on-location portrait photography. My focus is generally maternity, newborns, children and families of all sizes. I am CPR certified for adults, children and babies and have years of experience working with infants and children.
The Experience
I believe your experience is just as important as your final photos. From the very beginning, I guide you through a simple planning process via email or phone to discuss your session details, participants, and the best package for your needs.
Once booked, you’ll receive a customized Prep Guide tailored to your session type and location. This includes everything you need to feel prepared and confident—what to wear (and what to avoid), styling tips, location details, and helpful recommendations. For visiting clients, I also provide a Charleston Welcome Guide and tips for navigating local weather.
Before your session, you’ll get final details like meeting location, parking, and nearby amenities. I’m always available to answer questions along the way, so you feel fully supported from start to finish. My goal is to make the entire experience smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable.

Session length depends on your location, group size, package, and outfit changes. I focus on capturing the best results rather than sticking to a strict time limit.
Most one-location sessions are completed within about 45 minutes, even for larger families. Senior sessions typically range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the package.
-
I do not offer traditional mini sessions. Instead, I provide tiered packages based on the number of final images you receive—not time. This allows for a more relaxed, enjoyable experience without feeling rushed, while still working efficiently (especially with little ones!).
-
Portrait sessions are guaranteed to have a turnaround time of within two weeks. In recent years, the majority of clients have received their final edited galleries in just 7-9 days.
You can expect a private online gallery showcasing your beautifully edited images, along with a password for downloading, access to high-quality prints, canvas portraits, and various other items available in the gallery store.
-
After your session in completed I will go through all of the images and narrow down to the best of the best. I take in account everyone's expressions, sharpness and exposure of the image, and whether the overall image fits my artistic standards. During the editing process is where I also put the final touches on your gallery which will sometimes include advanced editing to ensure we have the overall best expression for each series of portraits.

For the best lighting beach sessions are booked for Sunrise and Sunset only, Monday through Thursday. Peak months for the best weather and skies are usually between the months of April and September. Here in Charleston we have high humidity and heat in the summers so sticking to these parameters ensure that you have the best available light, lower temperatures, and more beautiful skies. You’ll also have less sweating and far less harsh shadows and squinting.
Sunrise is suggested for clients with young children and those coming from out of town and here for very short time frames since there is a lower chance of thunderstorms. Sunset is suggested for larger groups and clients with older children.
-
For every session I highly recommend neutral and light colored clothing but that also can depend on the location of your session. Most of Charleston is so bright and full of color that it's usually a safe bet to wear something neutral or pastel to help stand out from your back drop. I can offer specific advise and help once you've booked your location and time frame for the session. I also offer a client closet for maternity and non-maternity women's, so please ask!

Yes and No... I offer sessions in the Charleston area including Summerville, Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Hollywood, Ravenel and I occasionally travel to Edisto Island. Sessions book up months in advance so if you're interested in a travel session it must be booked at least 6-12 months in advance. I occasionally take trips back to Boston, Baltimore and Washington DC so I may be available for travel in these areas particularly in the Fall months.
Travel Fees to apply to sessions outside of the above mentioned Charleston area.

The "rights" of the images as it pertains to the copyright is retained by myself, the photographer. This means that you cannot use your images for things like self-advertising, commercial advertising, or sell the image to any other company for use or profit. These images are for you and your family to enjoy personally, not for resale. And even with the copyright I don't sell your images either.
