Surprise Proposals in Charleston
Adam + Breanna
Historic Downtown Charleston
Dale and Kate - Isle of Palms Beach, SC
Dale and Katie came to Charleston for a quick getaway. Dale brought his drone and convinced her that he needed to go to the beach at sunset to capture some great shots of the beach... That's where we surprised her!
Mason and Zoe - Charleston Battery and White Point Garden
Mason and Zoe were planning a trip back to Charleston for a visit and to run a marathon after living in the Low Country for a few years while Mason finished up school. He had the place in mind but with my help we were able to put together the perfect timeline and he surprised her with a fabulous dinner that night to celebrate.
Joe and Lauren - Pitt Street Bridge
Joe and Lauren planned a weekend getaway to Charleston for a first time visit and a little rest and relaxation. They met at an Eagles game on 1.1.18 with friends and have inseparable ever since! Joe contacted me a little less than a week ahead of their arrival with his idea to propose near water, but having never been to Charleston he needed my help to make it all come together! From the location, to their date written on a post, to their dinner plans, I was able to help him plan the perfect proposal in one of the prettiest sunset spots in Mount Pleasant.
Lucas and Natalie - Hampton Park
Lucas and Natalie met at a mutual friend's New Year's Eve party 3 years ago and they have been inseparable ever since. They are from Wisconsin and planned to visit Charleston on a week-long getaway from the cold. Lucas contacted be ahead of their arrival to plan his surprise proposal while visiting. He loved the look of the Angel Oak but knew from his research that it would be busy and full of tourists and school trips. We decided on Hampton Park as the alternative, one of my favorites. This park is hugely versatile with its large oaks, Spanish Moss, and lush palms.
After seeing some of my images taken at the park he decided on the walkway leading from the pond to the gazebo, it's lined with classic street lights and has gorgeous light in the evenings. I told him that I would arrive ahead and place an X where I wanted him to kneel and an O where Natalie should be standing. I actually thought I saw them at one point in the park, he was trying to avoid me. I knew I didn't have much time and they disappeared again around the park corners. Then while I was setting up in the bushes, they flanked me from behind! I was totally busted but Lucas kept his focus and brushed me off as some crazy lady. He found his spot and popped the question, she said YES!
We spent the next half hour touring my favorite spots at Hampton, we came across another surprise proposal as well! Love was in the air!
